Why a dedicated d8 roller
The d8 is the workhorse damage die of D&D’s middle weight class: longswords, warhammers, and battleaxes wielded one-handed, rapier and shortsword sneak-attack stacks, the hit die for half the classes in the game, and the healing die for Cure Wounds and Healing Word.
